Kyle began playing piano at the age of four and concentrated on theory and composition at ten. After being accepted in the music program at the University of Northern Colorado, he majored in Music Education with an emphasis on Piano and Vocal education. He also began studying electronic music production and exploring integrating his live performance with a new electronic sound.
After graduating from UNC, Kyle taught in the public schools for five years teaching a multitude of subjects including choir, band, jazz band, guitar & ukulele, musical theater, and digital music production. Students in his production class began producing music from multiple genres and many went on to pursue careers as professional DJs and attend top production schools like Full Sail University.
For five years Kyle was the Music Director and main pianist for the Riviera Piano Bar and Supper Club in Glenwood Springs. Combining fine dining with live music, he kept up requests and programmed special events. His favorite events were dinner theater events where dinner courses were paired with musical theater shows and shows such as Moulin Rouge and Phantom of the Opera were brought tableside.
Today Kyle works as a full-time pianist and music educator. He operates a music studio in Glenwood Springs where he gives private and virtual lessons. Advocating for music education is something Kyle strongly believes in and he works to support music programs at area high schools, local community theater organizations, non-profits, and through city organizations. He currently serves as a board member on the Glenwood Springs Arts and Culture Board, a board member for the Glenwood Arts Council, and is President of the board for the Bristlecone Arts Collaborative.
